IV Therapy has become the secret weapon of burnt-out stars such as Brad Pitt, Madonna, Simon Cowell and Rhianna…to name but a few. They have been featured on Netflix shows like Selling Sunset and Real Housewives. Now, everyone can experience the incredible benefits and greater sense of well-being.
IV Vitamin drips have grown in popularity over the last few years in the UK however in countries such as USA, South Africa and China these have been “go to” therapies for 1000s of people for a variety of benefits including combating fatigue, boosting immunity, anti-ageing, brightening skin and encouraging good hair growth. IV Vitamin Drips are frequently used as an instant pick-me-up; it is excellent for rehydration and replacement after travelling, athletic performance or a late night out.
Selected vitamins and amino acid are given through a drip directly into the patients blood stream via a small needle in the arm. Each procedure takes about 30-45mins to deliver. Once the drip is started patients are free to relax, read a book, listen to music or even catch up on work or emails all while the treatment continues.
The main benefits of IV Vitamins drips includes
1. Injectable vitamins and micronutrients (either by intravenous infusion or IM shot) are not affected by stomach or intestinal absorption problems.
2. The total amount of infusion/ injection that is available to the tissues(no biotransformation is carried out by the liver)
3. Nutrients are forced into the cells by means of high blood concentration gradient.
4. Higher concentrations of nutrients can be given by IV infusion or IM shots other than what is possible by mouth eg high concentrations of oral Vitamin C causes gastric upset, but High Dose Vitamin C IV does not.
London Lifestyle Clinic is committed to delivering holistic health and wellbeing care to all our patients. IVNT is recommended in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise plan.
5.IV Infusions at London Lifestyle clinic are for wellness benefits only and are not intended for medical treatments.
An independent review of IV Vitamin Therapy is available to read here https://www.healthline.com/health/under-review-IV-vitamin-therapy.
IV vitamin drips are so popular because vitamins and amino acids are given directly to the blood stream, via a small plastic needle. This means that 100% of the nutrients are delivered straight to where they are needed, unlike when taken orally where only a small fraction gets absorbed and is able to be utilised by the body. The effectiveness of oral supplements depends on a variety of factors meaning that these are often not fully absorbed into the blood stream by the gut so can be ideal for people who have digestive or bowel disorders. Also taking certain vitamins orally can have side effects such as diarrhoea for example the body cannot tolerate more than about 1g of Vitamin C. We can give high dose vitamin C, at 2g, 8g and even 25g strength without this problem and patients can actually reap the benefits.
London Lifestyle Clinic IV Vitamin therapy is intended to be used as a hollitic approach to health and well being and all IV vitamin drips should be used in conjunction with a nutritious diet and exercise plan.
Each IV Vitamin Drip protocol is different and many people just enjoy the benefits from adhoc sessions when required. Our consultants will discuss your specific needs with you and design and treatment plan for you. Treatments such as the Skin Brightening IV infusion will need repeat sessions for several weeks until the desired effects are achieved. For maximum benefit and maintenance of wellbeing we advise regular sessions.
Every client is individual and it is not possible to determine in advance how your system will react to the supplements you need. Some patients report feeling energised and more alert soon after the IV Vitamin Drip or Vitamin Shot while others may feel fatigued, experience headaches and flu-like symptoms for the first 24-48 hours as the experience “detoxification” effects on the liver. These patients may require 2-3 IVNT sessions before they start to feel energised.
Smokers may experience an unpleasant “metal” taste in their mouth due to heavy metal chelation by Vitamin C, glutathione and certain amino acids.
